Say hello to Adam

Jan 25, 2010 @ 12:01 P.M.

In this blog you're going to make acquaintance with a lot of different people. Some world renowned thinkers, some really cool artists and then of course ourselves - the production crew. We will happily fill out the groundbreaking-video-gaps with the shameless art of self-promotion. First out in this series is our own Walter Cronkite - Adam Svanell.

- Hello Adam, who are you?
I am a 27 year old guy who likes pretentious literature and slapstick humor. When I am not making brilliant documentaries I work as a freelance writer and editor of a music magazine called Novell.

- What's your role in PressPausePlay?
According to my contract, I am producer and interviewer. What that actually means is I travel around the world with two photography nerds, interviewing artists, writers, enterprisers and other smart fokes.

- Name one strange thing that has happend during your travels?
In Los Angeles our Director of Photography Hannes Isaksson lost a bet and had to wear his pants backwards for a whole day. Kris Kross style! That might actually be the highlight of our trips so far.

- Who is your dream interview object?
I don't really have one. It's often a bit of a disappointment to meet your heroes and see that they're just ordinary people who eat, sleep and spill toothpaste on their pants like the rest of us. Interviewing Bill Drummond was really fun though.

- What is your most creative talent?
I am good at telling stories. I guess that's the essence of most of what I do, whether it's writing a reportage or telling a bad joke during a coffee break.

- How will we look back at this period in time?
Probably as a time when lots of old rules and institutions were starting to fall apart. As the end of the era when there were just one single way of selling a record, producing a film or watching a piece of art.

He is happy because he is on a blog. BTW, that Walter Cronkite thing was pretty funny. Never thought about that before.
