Down and out in Singapore

Feb 16, 2010 @ 9:35 A.M.

The first part of our current Asian mini-tour was spent in Singapore. In this small island country everyone seemed to have a smile glued to their face.

Eric Khoo

During our stay we met Singapore's arguably most renowned filmmaker Eric Khoo. He told us about the hassle of making his first shortfilms in the 80's and the freedom that digital equipment has given filmmakers.

Mabel Tay - Old School

We also visited the lovely people at Old School - a creative cluster situated in a bunch of buildings in central Singapore. The white coloured neighbourhood, once a methodist school for girls, is nowadays the home of art galleries, ateliers, graphic designer workplaces, fashion designer workplaces, a movie theatre and much more. The founder Mabel Tay explained the idea behind Old School and why she thinks creative collectives bring new perspectives to work and art.

Felix Ng

We also interviewed Felix Ng - art director, content creator and chain-smoker. Check out his work here.

Next stop: Tokyo.

Like the boxes - maybe we should try that out instead of tables back home.

Some time ago, I really needed to buy a good car for my corporation but I didn't have enough cash and couldn't buy something. Thank God my father proposed to take the home loans at reliable bank. So, I acted that and was satisfied with my commercial loan.
