Reflections from SXSW

Back to reality, which basically means snow, a lot of work and no tacos. Austin was great and SXSW is such a cool festival, it's probably not the last time we will go there! Besides the great weather, the large quantities of hamburgers and beer pong the festival offers a really nice audience and organizers.
How did it go? We got a great response from the audience. The film did exactly what it was supposed to: inspire and spark a discussion. We've had a pretty huge flow of comments and tweets about the film since and people seem to really have enjoyed it. We've gathered some of the comments and interviews below. What's interesting is that people seem to be having such varied experiences when they watch PressPausePlay. Some think it's melancholic and negative, while other feels inspired and emotional. For us as filmmakers, that's really cool. We've gotten a lot of questions about where it will be shown and how people can get their hands on it, please come back to this site for more info on that!
The few negative comments we've gotten have been about the fact that some people felt it didn't give enough answers or that it had any real positioning. We can of course understand that feeling, but we never set out to give clear answers or present new distribution models. That's up to the endless conference panels around the world to try to agree on. We wanted to make something totally different. Documentaries are often done a few years after everything has settled and the "truths" have been set. We wanted to do something that is here and now - a snapshot of the creative world today. We felt there was something intriguing in the fact that everything is up in the air at the moment and that's why our film is diverse, undefined and gives no definite answers. If you watch it with that in mind, we're pretty sure you'll have a blast. Just like all the people that left the cinemas emotional and inspired :)
